About Me
Sarah Henley, LMFT
Many clients come to therapy sensing that something deeper needs attention. This may show up as anxiety, trauma, burnout, relationship difficulties, or a feeling of being stuck despite having insight or motivation. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and develop a more honest and compassionate relationship with yourself.
Our approach includes:
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy
- Psychodynamic psychotherapy
- Attachment based therapy
- Trauma focused talk therapy
- Humanistic and feminist perspectives
- Expressive and creative approaches when appropriate
Therapy is collaborative and individualized. Together, we explore both present day challenges and the underlying emotional and unconscious patterns that shape how you relate to yourself and others.
When working with EMDR, we focus on:
- Careful preparation and stabilization
- Establishing safety and resourcing
- Respecting pacing and readiness
- Supporting integration after processing
Extended EMDR sessions may be available when they support deeper trauma work and when scheduling allows.
We work with adults of all ages, sizes, ethnicities, orientations, genders and neurotypes. Many of our clients identify as artists, creatives, therapists, high achievers, and highly sensitive people. who are seeking support with anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, neurodivergence, reproductive mental health, burnout, and major life transitions.
Common areas of focus include:
- Anxiety and depression
- Trauma and PTSD
- Relationship and attachment issues
- Life transitions and midlife concerns
- Burnout and identity development
- Neurodivergence, including late identified Autism and ADHD
- Reproductive mental health, infertility, and perinatal concerns
We also offer consultation and clinical supervision for therapists, as well as career consultation for graduate students.
Our work is informed by depth oriented and Jungian perspectives that honor symbolism, creativity, and the unconscious. When helpful, therapy may include:
- Dream exploration
- Expressive arts and imagery
- Somatic awareness
- Meaning making and values exploration
Healing is not only about symptom relief. It is also about developing agency, insight, and a more felt connection to yourself and your inner life.
